TRANSFERDRUCK TEXTIL - Screen Printing Munich - ARSONISTS - Textile Printing Screen Printing Shop

In addition to the direct screen printing process, we of course also offer the printing process of transfer printing in the heart of Munich. Transfers are a high-quality way to finish difficult-to-print textiles and is often used for polyester, mixed fabrics or difficult to finish areas. Within transfer printing, a distinction is made between different types of printing. Among them are flex print, flock print, plastisol transfer print, digital transfer print, screen print transfer or sublimation print. Tailored to your project, we select the appropriate process to get the maximum quality in combination with price out.

THIS IS HOW TRANSFER PRINTING WORKS IN DETAIL

In transfer printing, ink or foil is transferred from the substrate, usually a transfer paper, to the textile by means of a heat press. Transfers are created with different techniques, here one distinguishes mainly between digital print transfer or screen printing transfer and a flex transfer. In the former case, a color layer is printed digitally or by screen printing on transfer foil in mirror image and provided with an adhesive layer, which is fused under the influence of heat to bond with the color. The adhesive is matched to the textiles to be finished in order to achieve optimum adhesion. In comparison, a special foil is cut by means of a plotter contour and lifted from the transfer paper.

Advantage in the completion of a transfer printing textile, it is also to print in an area that is otherwise not printable by direct printing process. Thus, for example, can also be refined on a T-shirt over a side seam.

OVERVIEW OF THE TRANSFER PRINTS

In this overview, we compare the main types of printing within transfer printing.

FLEX AND FLOCK PRINTING

Flex printing is another way to customize your apparel, even in small quantities. In addition, flex printing is primarily used for polyester textiles that are difficult to print on, such as rain jackets or coach jackets. This printing method produces beautiful colors and perfect coverage in cases where it’s difficult to achieve vibrant colors with screen printing. As an alternative to screen printing, flex printing involves heat-pressing special films onto the fabric. There is a wide variety of films available, including special effect films that would not be possible with direct printing. It’s important to note that only vectorized shapes can be plotted. In addition to flex film, a transfer print can be ironed onto the fabric. This is first printed and coated with an adhesive layer. It is then pressed directly onto the fabric under heat, just as with flex printing.

SCREEN PRINTING TRANSFER

In addition to our regular screen printing , we also offer screen-printed transfers. These are characterized by crisp lines and beautiful color reproduction. In transfer printing, the design to be printed is exposed in mirror image onto the screen and printed onto a film that is coated with an adhesive layer and fused under heat. The resulting plastisol transfers are heat-pressed onto the corresponding textile using a transfer press. Screen-printed transfers can achieve even finer lines and edges than direct screen printing, because the design is printed onto a film just as it would be on paper, and the fabric’s texture does not affect the print result. Another common application of this printing method is for neck labels displaying size and care instructions. Color accuracy according to Pantone is another advantage of screen printing.

DIGITAL TRANSFER PRINTING

A distinction is made between screen printing transfers and digital transfer printing. In digital transfer printing, the ink is applied using digital printing, and the number of colors does not matter. Since there are no limits on the number of ink colors, this method is often used to reproduce photos or designs with many colors. Digital transfer printing is also a good solution for achieving a beautiful print result on difficult-to-print materials, including all types of textiles.

DIGITAL PLASTISOL TRANSFER

Digital plastisol transfer combines these two printing methods. It harnesses the strengths of both processes to achieve a perfect transfer result. Specifically, the design is pre-printed digitally, and in the next step, a white carrier layer is screen-printed and then fused with the adhesive. This allows us to take advantage of both the wide color range of digital printing and the positive characteristics of screen printing—opacity, elasticity, and wash resistance. That’s why we offer digital plastisol transfers for textiles that are difficult to print on directly.

DIGITAL PLASTISOL TRANSFERS IDEAL FOR MULTICOLOR MOTIFS

In runs starting at around 50 pieces, digital plastisol transfer is the optimal variant for a multicolored motif or photo prints. The transfer is digitally pre-printed in many colors and then backed with screen printing. This combination allows best results when transferring the print and extreme wash resistance.
